”The world’s largest aviation, space, and technology festival”, TEKNOFEST 2025, has begun at Istanbul Shipyard under the theme “Blue Homeland.” Baykar Chairman of the Board Selçuk Bayraktar highlighted Türkiye’s leadership in unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) technology and its defense industry achievements.
20 Years of Success Toward Full Independence
Bayraktar emphasized the significant progress made in the defense industry over the past two decades:
“You can see our national torpedo. All these achievements have been realized with the vision of a National Defense Industry, and they are crucial steps toward full independence.”
Türkiye’s UCAV Leadership
Bayraktar stated that Türkiye controls 65% of the global UCAV market and 60% of the UAV production and export market. He added that Baykar has exported UCAVs to 37 countries to date, describing the company’s systems as “the most advanced technology in the world delivered in the most cost-effective way.”
Advanced Ammunition and International Cooperation
Bayraktar underlined that Türkiye’s UCAVs can be equipped with dozens of different types of ammunition, strengthening diplomatic relations with partner countries. He also noted that electronic systems developed by Roketsan, ASELSAN, and TÜBİTAK further enhance the effectiveness of UCAVs.
A New World with the TEKNOFEST Generation
Bayraktar praised the young generation investing in technology, known as the TEKNOFEST generation, saying:
“The TEKNOFEST generation will break the dominance over us in all fields of technology and build a fully independent and prosperous world.”
He encouraged youth participation in the festival, stressing that Türkiye’s achievements in aviation and technology will grow even stronger with new generations.
