Announced at the Paris Air Show, Wisk Aero has signed a three-party Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan Airlines Engineering (JALEC) and the City of Kaga, Ishikawa, Japan. The collaboration sets the stage for the introduction of autonomous air mobility in Japan.
The partnership will focus on key areas including regulatory and airspace development, market research, public acceptance, supply chain support, and local manufacturing opportunities.
Wisk CEO Sebastien Vigneron emphasized Japan’s significance as a key market for AAM, noting Kaga’s designation as a national strategic special zone as a major advantage. Mayor Riku Miyamoto added that the city’s smaller size allows for more agile processes and a flexible testing environment.
