İGA Istanbul Airport CEO Selahattin Bilgen shared updates regarding the Triple Independent Runway Operation, which was launched in April.
Selahattin Bilgen’s statement is as follows:
“With the Triple Independent Runway Operation we launched in April, we marked a first in Europe as Istanbul Airport and opened a new chapter in Turkish aviation history. Our ability to perform simultaneous landings and takeoffs on three independent runways, supported by advanced radar systems, A-CDM integration, and digital slot management, enhances both our operational efficiency and safety, while making Istanbul an even more critical hub in global aviation.
In taking this historic step, I would like to thank our Minister, Mr. Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, the Ministry, the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ), as well as all stakeholders and colleagues who contributed to this success. Together with Turkish Airlines, we are elevating the passenger experience, optimizing traffic flow, and reducing our environmental impact.
Together, we continue to advance İGA Istanbul Airport not just as a destination, but as an innovative and strategic hub where the future of global aviation is being shaped.”
