Türkiye’s national flag carrier, Turkish Airlines (THY), and its youngest airline brand, AJet, have signed a strategic cooperation agreement under the “Ada Kıbrıs” initiative to promote the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in global tourism. The partnership focuses on expanding accessible travel options, creating regional employment, and supporting promotional efforts. The agreement was signed by TRNC President Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and THY and AJet Chairman Ahmet Bolat.
First Flight to TRNC with “Ada Kıbrıs” Branded Aircraft
On July 7, 2025, a delegation led by Ahmet Bolat, including THY Vice Chairman Şekip Avdagiç, AJet General Manager Kerem Sarp, Turkish Exporters Assembly representatives, influencers, and senior executives, flew from Istanbul to the TRNC aboard a special aircraft bearing the “Ada Kıbrıs” logo.
A ceremony was held at the TRNC Parliament to mark the signing of this impactful agreement, which aims to boost the country’s global tourism visibility. President Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and Ahmet Bolat officially signed the collaboration deal.

Bolat: “We are proud to be the main driver of Ada Kıbrıs.”
During his speech at the ceremony, Ahmet Bolat emphasized the symbolic and practical value of the project:
“As the national flag carrier of Türkiye, we are honored to officially support the Ada Kıbrıs project—a visionary initiative shaping the future of Northern Cyprus. This isn’t just a tourism campaign; it represents the deep-rooted friendship and shared future between our two nations.”
Two Daily AJet Flights to TRNC with Price Cap
Bolat announced that AJet will operate two daily flights between Istanbul and the TRNC, offering a capped fare of 6,000 TL one-way:
“With this initiative, we aim to elevate Northern Cyprus’ cultural richness, natural beauty, historical legacy, and culinary appeal on a global scale. Our accessible pricing model will not only ease travel but make the island a top destination for both local and international visitors.”
Ada Kıbrıs Launch Event in London
To attract more visitors from the UK, Bolat shared plans for a launch event in London on July 26, 2025. A special “Ada Kıbrıs” route will be introduced from London Stansted via Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen.
Strong Backing from Media, Business, and Art Circles
The project also involves collaboration with representatives from media, business, and the arts, aiming to spotlight the island’s tourism and investment potential through creative content and promotion.
60 Young TRNC Citizens to Join AJet as Cabin Crew
As part of the employment commitment, 60 young TRNC citizens will be hired by AJet as cabin crew, gaining international aviation experience. Two AJet aircraft painted with the “Ada Kıbrıs” logo will act as flying ambassadors for the island’s tourism identity.
