Türkiye’s leading unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturer, Baykar, has taken a significant step toward defense industry cooperation with Korean Air, the flag carrier airline of South Korea.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar and Korean Air CEO KH Lee during the 17th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2025).
The agreement aims to enhance collaboration in areas such as R&D, technology sharing, production, training, and operational experience within the defense and aerospace sectors.
From “Teach Us to Build UAVs” to Strategic Partnership
Previously, South Korea had approached Türkiye, inspired by the operational success of the Bayraktar TB2, with a request to “learn how to manufacture UAVs.” This new partnership is now seen as a concrete step toward turning that request into reality.
