Havelsan to Train Pilots for B-250 Light Attack Aircraft

HAVELSAN, a leading Turkish company in simulator technologies, will provide

HAVELSAN, a leading Turkish company in simulator technologies, will provide systems for the B-250 light attack and training aircraft, developed by the UAE-based defense company CALIDUS. These systems will allow pilots to master all operational procedures before ever stepping into the cockpit. As a pioneer in its field, HAVELSAN stands out for its solutions in the defense and aviation sectors, contributing to both platform development and personnel competency through its domestic and international deliveries.

Simulator technology provides training at a much lower cost compared to actual flight hours. This enables the safe practice of dangerous scenarios, emergency situations, and combat environments without risk. Pilots can experience mission areas and potential threats in a simulated environment beforehand, making them better prepared.

HAVELSAN has added a new one to its list of international collaborations. The company will work with CALIDUS to develop a comprehensive training ecosystem for the B-250 light attack and training aircraft. As part of this, a high-fidelity simulator infrastructure will be created to reflect the complexity of real operations and ensure pilots are mission-ready on the ground.

To this end, HAVELSAN and CALIDUS signed a significant agreement at the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF 2025) to develop a comprehensive training ecosystem for the B-250. The collaboration, which began with a protocol signed at SAHA EXPO, was formalized into a contract at IDEF 2025.

The agreement is significant because it goes beyond just system delivery, symbolizing the two companies’ shared commitment to innovation, safety, and long-term cooperation. Under the agreement, HAVELSAN will provide an integrated, end-to-end training solution to prepare pilots for every phase of their flight.

The package offered by the company includes a Flight Training Simulator that recreates real mission scenarios with advanced flight dynamics. Partial Task Simulators are comprised of training modules focused on mission-critical maneuvers and subsystems. The Cockpit Entry/Exit Training Device offers safety-focused training for emergency evacuation procedures. The Briefing/Debriefing Station serves as an interactive platform for mission planning, analysis, and performance evaluation. This entire structure is reinforced by a digital training infrastructure that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical preparation.

The systems developed by HAVELSAN will be installed at CALIDUS’s facilities in the UAE and will be integrated to serve regional operations.

Pilots to be Prepared for the Future with Advanced Technology

By training on these advanced simulators, pilots will gain confidence in making critical decisions, learn from mistakes in a safe environment, and master the full operational spectrum of the B-250 before setting foot in the cockpit.

HAVELSAN General Manager Mehmet Akif Nacar stated that HAVELSAN designs its simulation solutions not only to mirror reality but also to prepare pilots for unexpected scenarios. “This project with CALIDUS is a strong reflection of our vision to develop integrated, reliable, and human-centric systems,” he said.

CALIDUS General Manager and CEO Khalifa Murad Al Balooshi commented, “Our choice of HAVELSAN’s expertise in training will provide B-250 users with modern, technology-based, and future-ready capabilities. This collaboration lays the foundation for a long-term strategic partnership built on trust and innovation.”
