Brazil‑based eVTOL developer Eve Air Mobility has successfully completed the inaugural flight of its full‑scale electric vertical take‑off and landing (eVTOL) prototype, marking a major milestone in its urban air mobility development program. The uncrewed hover flight took place on December 19, 2025, at Embraer’s test facility in Gavião Peixoto, São Paulo.

This first flight officially launches Eve’s flight test campaign and validates key aspects of the aircraft’s design, including its fifth‑generation fly‑by‑wire controls and fixed‑pitch lifter rotors, providing high‑fidelity data that will inform future tests and certification efforts.

Eve plans to build six conforming prototypes to support an extensive flight test program throughout 2026, with gradual expansion from hover tests to full wingborne flight as it gathers the knowledge required for regulatory approval. The company is working closely with Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) and anticipates progressing toward type certification, initial deliveries, and entry into commercial service in 2027.

“This is a historical milestone for our employees, customers, investors, and the entire ecosystem,” said Eve’s CEO Johann Bordais, underscoring the significance of the achievement for both the company and the broader urban air mobility sector.

The test campaign will also explore aircraft performance factors such as energy management, control laws, dynamic response, and noise footprint, helping refine the eVTOL’s operational readiness in line with safety and performance expectations.

Looking ahead, Eve will continue expanding its flight envelope in 2026 with the goal of building a solid foundation of data for certification, while engaging with international regulators, including FAA and EASA, as part of its global certification strategy.

Eve’s development program benefits from Embraer’s decades‑long aerospace expertise, leveraging the company’s design, certification, and manufacturing heritage to advance urban air mobility technology and support future operator needs at scale.
