Istanbul Technical University Hosts Future of Urban Drone Operations Event

Istanbul Technical University is set to host a collaborative event on the 7th of November, in partnership with the MUSE SESAR Project and ImAFUSA. The event will bring together project members alongside representatives from the SESAR Joint Undertaking and EUROCONTROL to present and discuss cutting-edge developments in airspace management and drone integration.

The workshop will feature a series of presentations and discussions, beginning with opening remarks and moderation by Ipek Osken (ITUARC), followed by insights from Cengiz Ari and Andrew Hately (EUROCONTROL), and Hayrettin Korucu (DHMI). Key topics include:

• AI4HyDrop Airspace Design, presented by Thibaut Picot (Sopra Steria), Ales Prachar (VZLU), and Gunnar Schwoch (DLR).

• ImAFUSA and MUSE Project Presentations, delivered by Sofia Kalakou and Cristina Barrodo.

• Automated Flight Plan Approval Design under AI4HyDrop, presented by Emre Koyuncu (ITUARC).

• Drone Protection and Communication, discussed by Enrique Puertas (UEM).

The event will conclude with final remarks and a summary of key takeaways from Cengiz Ari (EUROCONTROL) and Emre Koyuncu (ITUARC).
