Lieutenant Colonel Kürşat Kömür, Commander of the Turkish Stars Squadron, shared his impressions after their flight performance at TEKNOFEST, saying:
“We are delighted to meet aviation enthusiasts, young people whose eyes are on the skies, here in Istanbul at TEKNOFEST.”
TEKNOFEST, the world’s largest aerospace and technology festival, continues to welcome visitors at Istanbul Atatürk Airport. The event is organized under the leadership of Türkiye’s Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Türkiye Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation), with Anadolu Agency serving as the Global Communications Partner.
Participating once again this year, the Turkish Stars team shared their preparations and excitement with the Anadolu Agency team before the show.
Lieutenant Colonel Kömür expressed the thrill of flying at the festival:
“It was also a great excitement for us. We are doing our utmost as the Turkish Stars Aerobatic Team to represent the Turkish nation, the Turkish Armed Forces, and the Air Force Command, and we will continue to work in this direction.”
Highlighting that future generations will one day pilot the Turkish Stars’ aircraft, Kömür added:
“We are eagerly waiting for them. We hope they continue their efforts with this goal in mind.”
Turkish Stars to Perform with Indigenous Aircraft in the Future
Team leader Lieutenant Colonel Hasan Kocabaş underlined the privilege of meeting aviation lovers at TEKNOFEST, saying:
“There was an immense crowd and great demand today at TEKNOFEST. It was a very enjoyable show. Flying over Istanbul is always special for us; maneuvering above the historic peninsula and performing over the city was a truly unique and exciting experience.”
Kocabaş also emphasized the team’s future plans:
“While watching our shows, we encourage young people to imagine themselves in the cockpit, because in the future, they will be the ones flying these aircraft. In the near future, the Turkish Stars will continue to perform with our domestically produced aircraft, including HÜRJET. The plan is set. One day, our young people will perform magnificent shows as part of the Turkish Stars Aerobatic Team, flying our national aircraft, and we will proudly watch them. So, when they watch us now, let them imagine themselves in the cockpit, because their future lies there.”
