Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has officially launched its new route between Abu Dhabi and Atlanta, marking the airline’s latest expansion into the U.S. market. Initially scheduled with four flights per week, the new route strengthens Etihad’s presence in the United States.
The flights are operated with Etihad’s state-of-the-art Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, known for its fuel efficiency, environmental friendliness, quiet cabin, and next-generation interior that enhances passenger comfort on long-haul journeys.
In a statement, Etihad Airways announced that due to strong early booking demand and high load factors, the route will increase to daily service starting in November 2025.
Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves highlighted Atlanta’s strategic importance both economically and culturally, stating:
“Atlanta is a vital hub for the southeastern United States. Our new flights provide seamless connectivity between this region and the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, and Asia. Thanks to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Preclearance facility at Zayed International Airport, passengers can arrive in Atlanta as if they were domestic travelers.”
Neves also noted that Abu Dhabi is becoming increasingly attractive to U.S. tourists, with high interest in its beaches, theme parks, cultural experiences, and diverse cuisine. “The strong interest in our new Atlanta route confirms this growing appeal. That’s why we’ve decided to move forward with daily service sooner than planned,” he said.
The new Atlanta route is seen as a key step in Etihad Airways’ global expansion strategy. The airline aims to connect more destinations between the U.S. and the Middle East in the near future.
