Pegasus Airlines soars into the future with innovation on its 20th anniversary

Turkiye’s leading low-cost carrier, Pegasus Airlines, is celebrating its 20th

Turkiye’s leading low-cost carrier, Pegasus Airlines, is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2025 with a bold vision for global growth. Having launched operations in 2005 with just 14 aircraft, Pegasus now operates a young and environmentally friendly fleet of 119 aircraft and plans to add 9 more by the end of the year.

To mark the Republic of Turkiye’s centenary, the airline added its 100th aircraft to its fleet, further solidifying its expansion strategy. In 2024, Pegasus signed a landmark deal with Boeing for 200 next-generation Boeing 737 MAX-10 aircraft, 100 firm orders and 100 options, highlighting its ambitious growth roadmap. This fleet expansion is set to significantly boost Pegasus’ network across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa (MENA), Central Asia, and Turkey. With an average fleet age of 4.7 years, Pegasus was ranked in 2025 as the airline with the 2nd youngest fleet worldwide in the category of carriers operating over 100 aircraft.

Flights to 151 destinations in 54 countries
Continuing its network expansion in the first half of 2024, Pegasus now flies to 151 destinations across 54 countries, including 114 international and 37 domestic routes. New international destinations include Edinburgh, Seville, Bremen, Dublin, Zagreb, Chișinău, Graz, Bristol, Cluj-Napoca, and Algiers. On the domestic front, notable new services include Trabzon–Ercan, Ankara–Dubai/Baku, and additional international flights from Antalya and Bodrum.

A new era in digitalization: AI-Powered captain announcements
Positioning itself as a “digital airline,” Pegasus approaches digital transformation not only as a technology investment but as a shift in its overall business model. Over the past two years, the airline has launched more than 30 technology projects focused on customer experience, operational efficiency, and innovation. In late 2023, it took a major step into the future by establishing the Pegasus Innovation Lab in Silicon Valley, solidifying its commitment to digital advancement.
