Turkiye’s national flag carrier, Turkish Airlines, and airBaltic, the Latvia-based airline, have expanded their existing codeshare agreement by adding new destinations. Since 2023, the two airlines have jointly operated flights between Istanbul and Riga under the codeshare partnership. With this newly extended collaboration, both carriers will gain access to new markets, expand their flight networks, and offer stronger connectivity for their passengers. The enhanced partnership will further strengthen the global reach of both airlines.
Under the expanded agreement, Turkish Airlines will add its flight code to airBaltic-operated routes from Riga to Turku (TKU) and Tampere (TMP) in Finland, as well as Palanga (PLQ) in Lithuania. In return, airBaltic will place its flight code on Turkish Airlines-operated flights from Istanbul to Tbilisi (TBS), Batumi (BUS), Ashgabat (ASB), Baku (GYD), Dushanbe (DYU), and Bishkek (FRU). These new codeshare flights will be launched following the completion of the required regulatory approvals.

In a statement regarding the collaboration, Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi said:
“We are pleased to further strengthen our partnership with airBaltic. This expanded codeshare agreement reflects our commitment to offering our passengers more travel options and enhanced connectivity. As the airline flying to the most countries in the world, we will continue to connect continents and cultures through our strategic partnerships and expanding network.”
Pauls Cālītis, acting CEO and COO of airBaltic, also shared his remarks:
“We are delighted to take the next step in our partnership with Turkish Airlines. This collaboration offers passengers from the Baltic region more travel opportunities through Turkish Airlines’ global network. At the same time, travelers from Turkey will gain easier access to airBaltic’s Northern European destinations. We are extremely pleased to continue developing our successful cooperation.”
As part of the expanded partnership, both airlines will now use their marketing flight codes not only on the Istanbul–Riga–Istanbul route but also on the newly designated routes. The agreement aims to meet growing passenger demand while providing a seamless travel experience and stronger connectivity via the carriers’ hubs.
