The Turkish Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced that a C-130 cargo aircraft belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) had crashed in Georgia.
The plane had taken off from Azerbaijan and was en route to Türkiye when contact was lost. Search and rescue operations have begun in coordination with Georgian authorities.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. The C-130 aircraft, used primarily for personnel and cargo transport, can carry up to 7,000 kilograms of load and around 60 personnel. The Turkish Armed Forces currently operate around 20 C-130 aircraft.
