From the founders’ extensive experience in aviation, the initiative aims to bring together professionals and aviation enthusiasts in a relaxed evening setting, beyond formal meetings and business-focused events.
Inspired by similar concepts around the world, DinewithAviators was built on the idea of “a community you can always join.” The platform offers aviation professionals and passionate enthusiasts a space where they can think, “There’s always a DwA dinner in this city, I can attend too,” fostering opportunities to socialize and connect.
The first event welcomed a diverse group of participants, including airport managers, marketing representatives, aviation analysts, ground handling specialists, researchers, advanced air mobility advocates, and pilot candidates. Bringing together people from every department and level in aviation, the gathering encouraged a wide range of perspectives at the same table. Throughout the evening, the most notable aspect was the warm atmosphere where titles and roles did not matter—everyone could freely engage with one another.
DwA events feature icebreaker activities, conversations, and short, inspiring “special guest” presentations to facilitate networking. Hosted in surprise venues, each dinner is limited to 20 participants, allowing attendees to connect closely and meet new people within the industry.
Following the first gathering in Istanbul, the DwA team plans to host additional dinners in Istanbul in October, London in the same month, and during the Dubai Airshow in November. Maintaining an intimate and welcoming environment, participation is deliberately limited.
According to the founders, “Our goal is not to create new business connections but to provide a space where people feel comfortable and share their common passions. We believe there should be more social gatherings in aviation.”
