The agreement, signed by Daniel O’Neill, General Manager of Skyports Middle East, and H.E. Omar Mohammed Lootah, Director General of Ajman Transport Authority, marks a step forward in Ajman’s efforts to embrace smart, sustainable transport systems.
According to a joint press release, the collaboration will involve technical research, feasibility studies, and site selection for vertiport infrastructure, essential for future air taxi operations. The partnership aligns with the UAE’s broader strategy to implement next-generation transport technologies and aligns with new vertiport regulations issued by the country’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
“This agreement is a strong opportunity to advance the future of flight in Ajman,” said O’Neill. “We’re looking forward to supporting Ajman’s vision with infrastructure that enables safe, sustainable aerial mobility.”
Director General Lootah echoed the sentiment: “Our cooperation with Skyports reflects Ajman’s commitment to smart city transformation and to adopting future-forward transport solutions that meet community needs.”
The initiative underlines Ajman Transport Authority’s ambition to lead in innovative mobility and to help shape a smarter, more connected UAE.
