We continue to make significant progress in the defense industry with each passing day. The platforms developed by BAYKAR, ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) especially fill us with pride.
BAYKAR has now reached major milestones on a global scale. While they are currently focused on KIZILELMA and TB-3, they are also eyeing other markets. They are working tirelessly for our flag and our national cause.
BAYKAR has brought us to remarkable places on the global stage and made our name known to the world. Now, it’s TUSAŞ’s turn to carry the torch that BAYKAR has lit.
Dear readers, I always say that projects in the defense industry feed and elevate one another, just like airports do. They develop steadily over time. You can’t build such massive projects overnight. It takes trial and error. One platform strengthens another. But there is also secrecy in defense. While you may think one project is far ahead, another might have already reached a completely different stage. HÜRJET’s role in paving the way for KAAN is a good example.
HÜRJET enabled KAAN; those two enabled ANKA-3. Likewise, Bayraktar TB-2, TB-3, and AKINCI, even the work on KIZILELMA, all influence each other. Why? Because we have some of the world’s most capable engineers, and while working on one project, they are also thinking about how to enhance other platforms. They are developing both themselves and the platforms at an incredible pace. Some of them work without sleeping, and for many, their company’s facilities have become their homes.
When I attend international fairs, I often witness that the engineers behind many successful foreign companies are actually Turkish. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has long been working hard to bring these engineers back to our country.
One example is Mahmut Akşit, who now heads TEI. He left a high-level position at Boeing and returned home out of patriotism. He provides essential engine support for our aircraft. Very soon, all our domestic and national aircraft will fly with locally produced engines.
We truly have many invaluable talents. Even the engineers behind a major air taxi initiative in Germany are Turkish.
Currently, the hot topics in our defense industry are KAAN, HÜRJET, HÜRKUŞ, GÖKBEY, AKINCI, TB-3, and KIZILELMA. It’s clear these platforms will pave the way for new ones. I can confidently say that after 2030, we’ll be in an even stronger position in the global defense industry.
Because all of these models are being designed to fly in coordination and support one another.
We also see that the missiles produced for KAAN, HÜRJET, HÜRKUŞ, ANKA, AKSUNGUR, ATAK, GÖKBEY, TB-3, AKINCI, and KIZILELMA are highly varied and far ahead of their competitors.
