Last weekend, Singapore Airlines (SIA) opened the doors of its Training Centre to nearly 900 guests as part of its third SIA Cares event. The guests included at-risk youths, individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, persons with disabilities and developmental needs, and caregivers from 33 Singapore-based social service agencies.

In celebration of Singapore’s 60th year of independence (SG60), SIA extended the event for the first time across two days, 19 and 20 July 2025.

During a two-hour guided tour of the SIA Training Centre, participants met with SIA pilots, cabin crew, and engineers to learn about the airline’s training programs, see how flight simulators operate, and explore the airline’s safety training facilities.

Beneficiaries and their caregivers also visited a special heritage exhibition dedicated to SG60 and SIA, and engaged with a digital installation highlighting Singapore’s nation-building journey. The tour concluded with a tasting session of selected in-flight meals offered by the airline.

Over 650 Singapore-based SIA Group employees volunteered to help organize the event and guide guests throughout the experience.

Corporate partners who contributed to the SG60 SIA Cares fundraising campaign also attended the event, a reflection of SIA’s commitment to rallying the broader community in support of meaningful causes.

The event is part of SIA Cares Around the World, a month-long global initiative involving over 1,000 overseas SIA staff taking part in community activities across 60 cities in the SIA Group network.

SIA CEO Goh Choon Phong said:
“Welcoming around 900 guests and giving them a behind-the-scenes look allowed us to connect with them and share the wonders of aviation. It was heartening to see their faces light up as they explored our flight simulators, experienced cabin service procedures, and interacted with our pilots, crew, and engineers.
That same spirit of giving was echoed by our corporate partners who joined us in this meaningful cause. Their strong support and active participation amplified our collective impact.
I’m proud of our teams across 60 cities outside of Singapore who made a difference over the past month. The energy and dedication of our volunteers reflect SIA’s longstanding commitment to giving back to the communities that have supported us throughout our journey.”
